Getting your clothes washed during your stay in Bali is easy as laundromat can be found all around the corner on the island. Most of these laundromats are operated by staff who will take your dirty clothes, wash and iron them, and let you pick your clean laundry the next day for as low as IDR 6,000 per KG (with a minimum price). Some even let you drop in the morning and get it ready by evening.

One of the downside of using these services which charge by weigh is they treat all the clothes the same. So there is a risk of getting your delicate article damaged. On the other hand, self operated coin laundromat lets you configure all the settings according to your needs, although most only provide washers and dryers without ironing service.

Meanwhile, a lot of self-claimed “coin laundry” services in Indonesia are not really a self service laundromat, rather just a branding which means they use a coin operated washers and dryers instead of a common household washing machines, and still operates as a drop off laundry service. Some allows you to buy a token and operate the machine yourself: put in the clothes, take them out when finished and fold them, but it is optional. It’s an experience that’s almost as if you are using a traditional laundry service.
